 ooopsss.. it's not about hang over due to alcohol. but it's a hang over after scrupuluos readings on Manuel Puig's "Kiss of the Spiderwoman". Though i chanced to read the script, not the novel, somehow, i was very much delighted by its quintessential philosophy. the story revolves around two characters, Molina and Valentin, whose struggle in the prison cell brought out a surprising yet subtle conclusion of the story: they fell in love with each other. It centers on conflicts between personal emotions, relationships and desires over political crusading. Valentin begins as a revolutionary who disregards pleasure and romance while Molina, a gay homosexual window dresser, obsessively entertains Valentin with his to-die-for German movie gusto. What's so surprising is that on the course of their interactions. little did they know they fall in love with each other: Valentin succumbing to his physical and emotional desires to Molina and the latter giving up everything (not to mention the stratagem devised by the prison authorities against the former) for Valentin's political cause. so much ado about this, if you're intrigued, keep track for my next post... ill give you the nitty-gritty of the story. it's just that after this reading spree, i thought of creating a very purposeful mission: creating a writer's league. Will that convince you to support me? i can't articulate it as of now.. but that's my plan so far. i confined this to my baby. hehe hmmm.. and he encouraged me to push through with this. Why not right? i reckoned -not to calculate the logical contemplations. I have this goal in mind to achieve: total development through creative arts and writing is just one of the outlets. we could do theater, music and a lot more of humanities. so why not help me put up a reading-writing club as our prime, eh? We never know, as a tv-commercial once said,"great things start from small beginnings". And the rest will be history. ciao.
