Love Divine, Love Madness
Poetry the saddest
What madness lies in me tonight
To fill the shadowy corners of my sight
To write some poetry, succeed? I wonder.
Or orphan defeat. You reconsider.
Such madness knows no contrite
But curse my heart so fraught with fright.
My face frown a chagrin stare
That bellows the cries of the solitary air
But afar my sight, though distance nearing
A soul in flaming red-hot glaring,
Came nearer and nearer, then ember-cold
Like ashes crumbled from the heavens untold.
To fill the gaps in my head
And clear my blurry sight
To ease my heart’s despair
And calm the rubble plight
Oh what success I count
In my poetry tonight
That it gives a magic treat
And write with eternity my heart’s delight
A soul in the shadows so bitter-sweet
